On Friday, September 20, defending Ivy League champions Collegiate paid a visit to Hackley, and Hackley’s 4-0 win was definitely a statement. Eamon Levin scored the first goal in the 11th minute, which settled the team’s nerves, but the score remained 1-0 until the half. At the start of the second half, though, Hackley came out energized. Zach Morant scored off a long throw by Ian Mook, colliding with the goalkeeper as he headed it in. Zach was helped off the field, but returned to score another goal off a through ball by Luca Aloe. In between Zach’s goals, Fernando Docters scored his first goal as a Varsity player. The team played good defense as well, and was anchored by a solid performance by George Wangensteen.
