Eve Spencer
Sophomore Eve Spencer usually makes New Year’s resolutions, but has only recently actually started writing them down. This year, she plans to run more outside and drink more water. “Some of [my] resolutions are hard to exactly ‘accomplish’ because a lot of them are something [I] want to do more, or get better at.” She finds that she usually improves on these by the end of the year. However, she finds that writing them down helps her a lot because it solidifies them. Year after year, she generally has a time goal for running, since she runs for both varsity cross country and varsity track. She finds that resolutions are helpful because they give people direction for the year. However, she thinks that making really unrealistic goals is not a good idea. Dealing with the disappointment of not fulfilling them can be really difficult, according to Eve.
