The Winter Sting kicked off the 2016 athletic season around campus today! With some tough losses, but also some crucial wins from some of Hackley’s favorite winter teams, the Sting was yet again another successful sporting event for Hackley teams all around. The Boys’ and Girls’ Squash teams kicked off the Sting with two team wins for Hackley. The Wrestling team followed with a 36-30 win over Horace Mann. The Girls’ Swimming team fought for the win this afternoon, but unfortunately lost to Horace Mann. On the other hand, the Boys’ team was able to dominate over Horace Mann, closing with a win of 109 to 63. The Hackley Basketball teams had incredible turnouts for their games this evening. Unfortunately the Boys’ team was not able to clinch the win; however, the Girls’ team, guided by their integral team bond and the cheers of the crowd, was able to defeat Riverdale 46-26. Overall, the Sting created lots of buzz around campus today, and the support shown by the students and teachers at the games today once again proved the team spirit found in the Hackley community.
