Lighthouse Ice Cream in Tarrytown, located with a perfect view of the Hudson River, offers homemade ice cream, gelato, and sorbet. The business uses 100% organic milk and cream from Battenkill Valley Creamery in Salem, New York. The shop also receives their coffee from Stone Street Coffee and pastries from Balthazar Bakery. In addition to their frozen goods, Lighthouse Ice Cream offers coffee, tea, smoothies, pastries, and chocolate. Tarrytown local and Hackley sophomore, Matt Fisch, said “I get coffee there every morning. They have really cool [ice cream] flavors that change daily, and I find myself going there almost everyday over the summer. With the perfect combination of scenery and quality of their ice cream, Lighthouse Ice cream is a dessert staple in Tarrytown.
Winner of a Best of Westchester’s award for best ice cream shop, Main Street Sweets is a must located on Main Street in Tarrytown. This classic ice cream shop offers homemade flavors, sorbets, cakes, and sweets. Run by Kathy, Corie, and Marlaina Buonanno, the family owned shop has been serving soft serve, non – fat, and gluten free options since 2000. In the heart of Tarrytown, this popular tourist spot is perfect for an afterschool treat.
If you’re lactose intolerant, Brrzaar, located at the Irvington Train station, specializes in homemade, organic frozen yogurt. They also offer oatmeal bowls, pastries, burritos, and espresso drinks made from New Orleans coffee. Located right by Matthiessen park, this cafe has a gorgeous view of the Hudson and delicious fro yo.

Known for being eco friendly, the restaurant serves their customers food without preservatives or artificial ingredients. They serve a variety of unique flavors such as mint lace and creme brulee in addition to classic flavors and treats such as sundaes, banana splits, and shakes. In addition to their ice cream selection, Local features a live music series and family friendly environment.
