The boys’ varsity basketball team continued their winning ways with a 70-62 win against Fieldston on January 13. In large part the win can be credited to a strong finish to the first half. The Hornets ended the half with an 8-0 run in 25 seconds to take a 38-30 lead, and wouldn’t look back en route to the win. The team was led in scoring by senior Charlie Pidoriano, 22 points, and sophomore Darius Inzar, 21 points. Once again foul shooting played an important role, with Hackley going a combined 8-10 from the line in the fourth quarter. Freshman Will Ballentine scored 7 points, while freshmen Andrew Chung and Tyler Sexton-Holtmeier both added 6 points. Junior George Santangelo added 5 points.
