As the school year winds down, students study in the Goodhue Library. The end-of-year testing schedule prevents students from becoming overwhelmed with assessments and helps spread out their work productively. Some students still feel stressed about the amount of work they still have to complete before school ends, though.

The end of the school year is rapidly approaching, and the Dial would like to remind students of the Upper School calendar for the few weeks of school that remain.

The two-assessment rule is in effect Monday, 21 May, Tuesday, 22 May, and Wednesday, 23 May. English and Science teachers have assessment priority on Thursday, 24 May, and History and Mathematics teachers have assessment priority on Friday, 25 May. After that Friday, no minor classes meet, and major classes also stop dropping.

No assessment may be administered on the Tuesday following Memorial Day. English has assessment priority on Wednesday, 30 May. History and Language classes have assessment priority on Thursday, 31 May, and classes end at 1:55 pm on that Thursday to enable Prom attendees sufficient time to prepare for Prom later in the evening. The two-assessment rule is in effect for ninth and tenth graders the Friday after Prom, and juniors must attend a Common Application workshop in the afternoon.

Monday, 4 June, is an assessment priority day for Science and Mathematics teachers. Tuesday, 5 June, is the last day of formal classes in the Upper School. The two-assessment rule will be in effect for all students on that Tuesday. And Class Day takes place on Thursday, 7 June.

We wish everyone well for their last days of the school year.
