If you are walking on the quad this winter, you will most likely see someone sporting an Aritzia Super Puff jacket. Aritzia is a Canadian-based company, whose headquarters is in Vancouver, British Columbia. With its offerings of 72 styles and many colors, the jacket is hard to miss. Despite having a pretty distinctive design, the logo on the jacket is very discreet, being just an S (for superpuff) located on the hood.
In addition to the super puff’s various styles, there is also different fabrics that are for different weather conditions. This jacket is the more waterproof version which is perfect for more wet weather and snow.
Two main reasons why this jacket is so popular among Hackley students are its warmth and the wide range of colors and styles available.
Due to harsh weather conditions during the winter in Canada, Aritzia knew that it needed to make a jacket that could withstand such cold temperatures. Because of this, the jacket is down goose lined, providing warmth at temperatures as low as -22 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the lining is lightweight, making it feel less heavy than a traditional goose lined jacket. The jacket is also waterproof, allowing it to withstand snow or rain.
The variation of colors and styles is another main draw to the jacket. The website offers more than 50 jacket options ranging from cropped to full length, as well as jacket fabric such as glossy to matte. Additionally, each jacket style comes with numerous color options ranging from a traditional black to a vibrant blue color. By having so many of these options, people have the opportunity to “create” their own super puff jacket.
While the jacket offers many features, the price is quite expensive. Compared to brands like North Face or Patagonia’s most popular puffer jackets, the Super Puff jacket is equally expensive, with the price hovering around $220 depending on the style. However, because of the many options available for it as well as its many features, it makes the jacket seem worth the price, and stands out from its competitors.

Sophomore Nora Husseini received a superpuff for Christmas this year. She wanted a jacket that was different from the traditional black puffer jacket, and so she got a brown super puff.
“It comes in so many different colors, it’s super warm, it has a hood which my previous jacket didn’t have, and overall is such a cool jacket. Everyone has one,” Nora said.
Similarly, sophomore Lily Hegener also owns a super puff. She is not bothered by the popularity of the jacket.
“I get the hype of the jacket, and understand why so many people have it” Lily said.
