Hackley Boys’ Soccer Beats Horace Mann 3-1

On Friday, October 18, Hackley boys’ soccer played Horace Mann in a must win game. With Poly Prep up in the Ivy League standings, Hackley needs to win out to have a chance at the championship, as well as get a little help from Poly. Hackley came through in the game against Horace Mann. Adin Rinzler started the scoring in the 13th minute off a cross from Jarrod Gerstein. Zach Morant, returning to the team after a six game absence, scored the second goal for Hackley after a spectacular through ball played by Eamon Levin. Horace Mann responded with a goal after Zach’s departure, but Hackley restored a two goal lead when Gerstein beat the goalie to a deflected ball and stabbed home his first varsity goal. It was a good win for Hackley, and now the team will shift their focus to a huge week which includes a game against Trinity and then league-leading Poly Prep on Wednesday.
