Girls’ XC Wins NYSAIS Championship

This year’s Varsity Girls’ Cross Country team was the first in Hackley School history to take home the overall NYSAIS Championship title. The meet was held at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx early this morning. Claire Gomba finished 2nd overall on the hilly 5k course in a time of 19:53, followed by Julia Stevenson (5), Ally Mueller (14), Greer Levin (19), Laura Seebacher (24), Camille Butterfield (28), and Lindsay Schechter (31). With their win, the squad earned a spot in the NY Federation Cross Country Championship that will be held on Saturday, November 16 at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls.

The Boys’ Varsity team came in eighth out of 19 schools. Tristan Jung placed 16th with a time of 17:49, followed by Frank Medici (23), Jed Dioguardi (47), Henry Brooks (54), Teddy van Eck (58), Alex Popov (59), and Phil Brooks (87).
