Hackley’s middle school running talents dominated at USA Track & Field Junior Indoor Nationals on March 13th. Eighth grader Olivia Curran and sixth grader Jonah Gorevic traveled with the rest of the Tailwind Track Club team to Landover, Maryland. Gorevic set two youth records, winning the 1500m and 300m in the 11-12 year-old division. Gorevic won the 3000m by thirty seconds, running a staggering 9:44.97. He followed that up with another record in the 1500m with a 4:36.23 and a second-place finish in the 800m. Eighth grader Olivia Curran won the 3000m with a time of 11:15.57. She also finished fifth in the 1500m. Both athletes will hope to perform well in the spring as Olivia joins Hackley’s Track and Field team and Jonah works to break five minutes in the mile with Tailwind Track Club.
