This past Tuesday, November 1, Hackley Boys’ Varsity Soccer faced off against Birch Wathen Lenox and came out on top. In the first half, sophomore Ian Jacobson and senior Gabe Welch each had a goal, and in the second half Gabe scored his second goal and senior Shayan Ahmad put one away. The Hornets had a 4-0 shutout and advanced to the quarterfinals against Friends Seminary.

On the afternoon of November 1, Hackley Varsity Field Hockey played Nichols in the quarterfinals round of their tournament. With a scoreless game at halftime, the Hornets managed to outscore their opponents 2-0 in the second half. Their goals were scored by Eleanor Henrich and Catherine Meyer.

The same afternoon, HBVS played the number one seed: Friends Seminary. Hackley had the majority of the play and was up 2-0 with 25 minutes to go, but unfortunately proceeded to lose 3-2. Their goals were scored by senior Shayan Ahmad and sophomore Andrew Tang.

Tomorrow Field Hockey, the number 3 seed, will play Holy Child, the number 2 seed, at 2:30 p.m. at Holy Child’s home turf. The winner of this round will advance to the State Championship. Go Hornets!
