Editor’s Note: This Q&A is the first in a series of profiles featuring Hackley’s athletes. Sophomore Jordan Wade sat with fellow sophomore Will Ezratty to discuss his distinguished achievements in squash.

Q: When did you start playing squash competitively?
A: “Probably 7 years ago. My mom knew a family called the Mas who taught me squash and immediately made me want to play seriously.”

Q: Where do you train outside of Hackley? How many hours do you spend weekly?
A: “14 hours. I go to Chelsea Piers in Stamford. I have a private coach who trains me there.”

Q: What’s your favorite part of the season?
A: “My favorite part would probably be the games, especially the more serious ones where we play really really good teams. Those matches get really intense, and they’re a lot of fun.”

Q: What are your pre-game rituals?
A: “Definitely listening to music.”

Q: Do you have any specific pump-up songs?
A: “Venice by The Lighthouse and the Whaler.”

Q: What do you hope to accomplish this year as a team and as a player?
A: “As a team I hope that we get into Division 1, and as an individual I want to play my best this year.”
