Charlie Perlman, Editor in Chief of Online

Charlie Perlman is a senior at Hackley and one of the three Editors-in-Chief. He has been contributing to Dial since freshman year and previously held the position of Features Sports editor. Charlie is from Mamaroneck, NY and has worked with the New York Times, The Atlantic, LA Times, Daily Northwestern and the Larchmont Loop. Charlie is also a member of the varsity basketball and lacrosse teams and the founder of the Sports Photography Club.

The two alumni were introduced by junior Calliope Yannuzzi and senior Dylan Firooznia, whose grandfathers are veterans. Bret Lowry ('93) joined the juniors and seniors in person, while Colonel Trevor Hill (‘93) connected through a Zoom meeting. “I just thought how beautifully and well spoken both of them express themselves and how, I want to be able to do that one day, because it was just amazing being in the presence of people like and being able to talk to them. I was so grateful for that experience,” said Calliope.

During the Upper School assembly on the quad on Sting day, Council hosted a series of competitions between the grades. Treasurer Mika Nuzum and Vice President Ben Iaderosa cheer on students as they compete in dizzy bat races, hula hoop challenges, and handless popcorn eating. The Hilltop had a surge in energy and was able to bring school spirit to the Sting later that day.

Ms. Fuller started her presentation by showing images from her time at Hackley. She talked about her experiences after her time on the Hilltop, and how she eventually started to work with non-profit organizations. Ms. Fuller starred in a mini documentary called Mardi and the Whites that highlights her experience being a Black woman in the White Mountains.

Trilogy Lacrosse CEO Ryan Boyle took time to help some install new zone and man up plays with the offense. Boyle's experience helped the team create a new play called, "USC". Boyle was really impressed by Hackley's varsity attackman and eighth-grader Jack Mcnulty, "I'm so impressed that he took the time out of his vacation to come down and train," said Boyle.

Once one of the best defenders in lacrosse, Mitch Belisle now helps pass on his knowledge to the next generation of lacrosse players. Coach Belisle taught the defense all of his tricks and tips about how to play defense against stronger and faster attackmen.

Freshman Gemma Lasky takes a shot. Girls Soccer kicked off Alumni Weekend on Friday night. The team held their annual Dave Allison game to honor Dave Allison, a former coach.

Senior Lulu Bednar, Junior Devyn O'Callaghan, and Sophomore Fiona Pedraza celebrate their win. Field Hockey played Horace Mann at 2:30p.m. The girls won 2-1 in overtime.

Sophomore Andrew Carpenito heads the ball away from the defense. Boys Soccer played Rye Country Day. The game started at 2:45 p.m and after a hard fought game they lost, 1-0.

Mr Franklin gives a small speech to the Boys Varsity Soccer team after their game. His excitement around Hackley sports has been great support and encouragement for all Fall teams.
