It is with tremendous sadness that The Dial wishes to mark the passing of Headmaster Walter Johnson on June 16, 2016.
In a statement to the Hackley community, Mr. John C. Canoni, President of the Board of Trustees, wrote the following:
“We received word that Walter Johnson died peacefully early this morning after a courageous battle with cancer. Diagnosed last fall, he has been on medical leave most of this year but actively participated in the life of the school when his health allowed, coming into the office regularly through springtime and otherwise keeping in touch through recent days, sustaining his unreserved effort on behalf of the Hilltop.”
The Dial, on behalf of the entire student body, extends our deepest sympathy to Mrs. Johnson and her family.
