Halloween on the Hilltop

With Halloween on a Saturday this year, Hackley celebrated Halloween on Friday, October 30, but the celebration was unlike ones in previous years due to COVID-19.
The day commenced with school-wide pool testing on Akin Common, which came back with all negative tests for the 9th consecutive week. Students and teachers sported costumes around campus, ranging from Avatar to Head of School Mr. Wirtz as “social distance man”.
Due to the rain and cold weather, the traditional Lower School parade was held inside the Lower School with no parents allowed to watch in person due to safety concerns surrounding COVID.
Other festivities around campus included an upper school trivia competition as well as cupcakes available with lunch. The Halloween festivities may have not included some of the traditional celebrations, but was still a fun day for the students and teachers both.
