Hackley athletics end winter season on high note

Boys’ Basketball

  • Finished the season with an 8-11 record (4-1 record in out-of-league games)
  • Beat Rye Country Day School in overtime after Andrew Chung threw a 3-pointer to tie up the game

Boys’ Squash

  • Placed 15th in the nation at High School Squash Nationals
  • Won the Ivy League Championship Meet for the 2nd year in a row
  • Finished the season undefeated with an 18-0 record

Fencing

  • Épée – Boys and Girls placed 3rd in league; Josh Zhang won Boys gold, Tyler LaRoche placed 2nd for Girls
  • Foil – Boys ranked 3rd and Girls ranked 2nd in league; Camille Butterfield and Ella Boodell tied for 3rd in individual championships
  • Sabre – Girls placed 1st in league led by 1st place win by captain Hanna Mark; Boys’ captain Raghav Chopra placed 3rd

Girls’ Basketball

  • 4-4 season record
  • Won the Dan DiVirgilio Tournament
  • Beat Fieldston at the Winter Sting

Girls’ Squash

  • Placed 21st in the country at High School Squash Nationals, placing 5th in Division II
  • Won 12 out of 16 games during the season

Swimming

  • Boys 200 Medley Relay (1:39.31) and 400 Freestyle Relay (3:16.23) broke school records. Boys set new Ivy League rocord in 400 Freestyle Relay
  • Boys won the Ivy League Championship, capping a successful undefeated season
  • Girls took 3rd in Ivy League Championship

Winter Track

  • Boys and Girls teams placed 3rd in Ivy Championship
  • Broke eight school records – Boys  300m, 400m, and 600m (Onye Ohia-Enyia), Boys 4×200 relay, Girls 600m (Luisa Stalman), Girls shot put and weight throw (Ivie Uzamere),
  • Girls 4×400 relay
  • Onye and Ivie made it to New Balance Indoor Nationals

Wrestling

  • Finished season with a 3-8 record
  • Placed 6th in Ivy Championship Jack Bosco placed 2nd while Jack Kneisley, Gio Crispi and Dewaun Burns placed 3rd
  • Jimmy Jones placed 2nd in NYSAIS Championships; Jack and Dewaun placed 3rd
