October 11th:

Our Round Square delegation has just gotten back from their trip after being hosted by the St. Cyprian’s school and their host families and after a post-conference trip exploring the southern region of South Africa! Community service projects, animal-spotting safaris, birthday celebrations were just some of the activities our Hackley representatives did while abroad. Amidst the fun and excitement, on a more serious note, our students and faculty also learned about issues of race, class, and socio-economic status and their role in South African society. October 3rd:

And they’re off! Students, Francesca Doctors (senior), Julian Epps (senior), Varun Krishna (junior), Grant Albright (junior), and Paola Garcia (sophomore), along with teacher chaperones, Mr. Steve Bileca and Dr. Adrienne Pierce, left last Friday, September 29th, for South Africa to attend the 2017 Round Square International Conference. So far, they have explored all there is to see in the Cape of Good Hope and have already tried traditional South African food, gone kayaking and cycling through South Africa’s natural wonders, and met students from St. Cyprian’s school situated at the base of Table Mountain.
