NYSAIS Results Spring 2023

Girls Varsity Lacrosse celebrating their NYSAIS win. The girls beat Rye Country Day School with score of 10-9. The team pulled off back to back NYSAIS championship wins.

Girls Lacrosse

The Girls Varsity lacrosse team played a total of 18 games and ended the regular season with a 14-4 record, remaining undefeated in the Ivy League. They entered NYSAIS as the first seed in the tournament and played Convent of the Sacred Heart in the quarterfinals beating them 18-2. The team advanced to the semi-final and played Poly Prep, beating them 14-2. The girls advanced to the final playing Rye Country Day School. They lost to them earlier in the season so the team was very excited to replay them. The game ended 10-9 with the Hornets coming out on top. The girls won back-to-back NYSAIS championships.

 

Boys Lacrosse

Junior Cliff Chapman and freshman James Marra talking strategy during the game. The Boys Varsity lacrosse team won the NYSAIS championship against Poly Prep. The game went into overtime and they won in sudden death with a score of 9-8.

The Boys Varsity lacrosse team ended the regular season with a record of 11-1 in the Ivy League. They entered as the first seed in the NYSAIS tournament. They played Horace Mann in the quarterfinals, beating them 12-2. The boys played Rye Country Day School in the semi-finals and beat them 9-8 in overtime. The team played the second-seed PolyPrep in the finals and ended up beating them 9-8 in overtime again.

Tennis

Boys Tennis finished the season tied for first place in the Ivy League with Poly Prep. Senior Ethan Ohm was given the first seed and Junior David Linnett was given the fifth seed in the NYSAIS singles bracket. Ethan Ohm won his quarter-final match 6-1 and David Linnett won his with a score of 7-5. The boys both advanced to the semi-finals, playing each other, with Ethan Ohm coming out on top with a score of 6-4. He advanced to the finals playing the second seed, losing 6-4 after a hard match. Senior Teddy Roberts and freshman Alex Chorny were given the first seed in the NYSAIS doubles bracket. They played the eighth seed and won advancing to the semi-finals beating the fifth seed with a final score of 10-8. The boys played the second seed in the final and pulled off the win for the NYSAIS doubles championship.

Softball

Varsity Softball played 14 games this season and ended with a record of 11-3. They ended the season in second place in the Ivy League and earned the second seed in NYSAIS. They played Horace Mann in the quarterfinals, beating them 9-2. The girls played Sacred Heart in the semi-finals and beat them 2-1, advancing to the finals. The team played the one seed, Poly Prep, and lost 2-1 after a hard-fought game.

Baseball

Hackley Varsity baseball ended the season with an overall record of 9-7. They finished fourth in the Ivy League with a record of 7-7. The team did not get into the NYSAIS tournament despite a winning record.
